Utility computing and Cloud computing are services that grew out of the basic hosting services, such as physical dedicated and shared webhosting.
Real Internet Solutions launched its Utility Computing platform on the Microsoft Heroes Happens Here event 2008 in Ghent.
My Own DC was the first commercial platform that provided server, storage and network resources throughout Credits.
My Own Cloud is a technical, white labelled suite build around the three levels of service and support we added to that utility computing :
- building a virtual private datacenter (VPDC) by means of a oCommerce shop or a Flash interface (My Own DC)
- adding partner programs, additional services susch as monitoring, backup tools, ... (My Own Lab)
- combining the set with your own application software and collaboration software (My Own VO)
